CoURSE Description
Make something with your name on it – literally!
A jolly little Christmas tree in glass, standing in a bucket of your chosen colour, with snow falling all around it and your own name, house name or number worked into the design.
The tree comes pre-cut, so there’s no cutting to worry about and nothing to get wrong. You spend the whole two hours on the enjoyable part – picking your colours, decorating your tree, deciding where the snow falls and adding your personalisation – with cheesy Christmas tunes on in the background and a warm studio around you.
Two hours later you’ll have something genuinely personal, which is more than can be said for most things that end up on a Christmas mantelpiece.
What You’ll Do
- Choosing your bucket colour – the base your tree stands in, and the first decision that makes it yours
- Decorating your tree – colour, baubles and detail across the pre-cut shape
- Adding falling snow – scattered glass that gives the piece movement and a proper wintry feel
- Personalising it – a name, a house name or a house number, worked into the design
- Watching it transform – understanding what the kiln does to what you’ve made
Our instructors are on hand throughout, so if you’re unsure whether something will work, just ask.
Make It Personal
This is what lifts the piece above a decoration. A first name makes it a keepsake for a child or a grandparent. A house name or number makes it a lovely thing to give to whoever’s just moved in. A family surname makes it the piece that comes out every year and eventually gets passed on.
Have a think before you arrive about whose name is going on it – it’s the one decision worth making in advance.
What You’ll Make
One personalised fused glass Christmas tree candle holder, lit by a tea light so the glass glows from within.
It’s the sort of thing that lives on a windowsill, a mantelpiece or a dining table through December, and packs away in tissue paper come January.
Perfect For
- Anyone wanting a Christmas decoration with real meaning attached to it
- Complete beginners – the tree is pre-cut, so there’s no artistic pressure at all
- Friends and family booking together – there’s no maximum number on this one
- Anyone looking for a personalised gift they’ve made themselves
- People who’ve been meaning to try glass and fancy a short, easy, festive introduction
Why This Course?
Personalised gifts are usually ordered from a website and arrive in a box. This one you made, with your own hands, in an afternoon – and it still has their name on it.
It’s also about as gentle an introduction to glass as we offer. With the tree pre-cut, you skip the hardest part entirely and go straight to the fun of colour and decoration. You’ll go home having made something you’re pleased with and rather surprised by.
We Also Offer
Icicle Wreath – Friday 27 November, a festive evening session making a frosted glass wreath for your window.

FAQs
Q: What should I wear?
A: Just comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting a bit dusty, and closed-toe shoes (nothing open like sandals or flip-flops). Avoid loose sleeves if possible, but we have elastic bands if needed.
Q: What's included in the course price?
A: Everything you need – all glass, tools, kiln firing, safety equipment, tea and coffee throughout the day, and biscuits. You just need to bring yourself! The only extra would be if you want to make additional pieces beyond what’s included in the course.
Q: Do I take my finished pieces home the same day?
For fusing courses, no – your pieces need to go in the kiln, so you can collect them when they’re ready (usually a week or so later) or we can post them to you but we really don’t recommend postage because glass is easily broken in the post. You can choose postage at your own risk, we charge a minimum of £8 (depending on the size of the piece) to cover postage cost & packaging.
For stained glass, copper foiling and other non-fusing courses, yes – you take them home at the end of the course.
Q: What if I don't finish my piece?
A: Don’t worry, we build in enough time for everyone to complete their projects. Jennifer keeps an eye on everyone’s progress. If you’re a bit slower, that’s fine – we’d rather you do it properly than rush.
Q: Is lunch provided?
A: We provide tea, coffee, and biscuits throughout the day, but not lunch. You’re welcome to bring sandwiches to eat in our comfy break area or outside if the weather’s nice, or there are plenty of nice pubs & cafes approx 1 mile away in the centre of Frodsham.
Q: How do I find you?
A: We’re pretty easy to find – just off the main road between Frodsham and Kingsley. We’re upstairs in the Barn at Bradley Farm Stables (look out for the horses 🙂 )
Our studio address is
Bradley Farm,
Bradley Lane,
Frodsham,
Cheshire WA6 7EP

There’s parking on the road right outside the barn and on the large grass verge just around the corner from the farm.
