Stained Glass Courses & Workshops

Learn the timeless craft of traditional stained glass with our experienced tutors.

Alternatively take a look at our Copper Foiling classes – copper foil is better for intricate, detailed, and 3D projects, as it uses finer lines between glass pieces. Copper foiling can be easier for beginners to learn and we often offer taster courses in copper foil techniques: click here to view our copper foiling courses & workshops.

{A well organised and really enjoyable course, I have learnt so much in a day that went way too fast. A beautiful studio setting too, well worth the course fee and some.

{I thoroughly enjoyed my course with you, I would love to try the fusing next! I’m really pleased with my Mosaic. I think I may have been a little adventurous for a beginner…but  I’ve learnt to cut glass really well. Thank you for all you help and expertise.

{I have been so pleased with what I have made today! I have never worked with glass before but you made it so easy and clear. Thank you Jenny, it has been a brilliant experience.

Traditional stained glass – the same techniques used to create the magnificent windows that have graced churches and grand buildings for centuries.

Our stained glass courses teach you the complete process from start to finish. You’ll master the art of cutting glass to precise shapes, learn to assemble pieces using lead came (the traditional H-shaped strips that hold everything together), and develop your soldering skills to create strong, weatherproof joints. It’s proper craftsmanship that connects you directly to generations of skilled glaziers.

Working with coloured glass and lead gives stained glass its distinctive character and strength. You’ll discover how to plan your design, select the perfect glass colours, and use traditional tools that haven’t changed much in hundreds of years. The satisfaction of creating a panel that could genuinely hang in any window is something quite special.

Led by Kat Walton, whose work appears in architectural projects across the UK, our courses welcome complete beginners alongside those looking to refine their skills. In our small classes you’ll get the individual attention needed to master this demanding but deeply rewarding craft.

By the end of your course, you’ll have a beautiful stained glass panel to take home and the traditional skills to continue this ancient art form.
